Just watch MSNBC. Olby and company all act like Rush is some type of GOP leader, because they talk about him almost every day. They're obsessed (especially Olby), although it's only a dishonest attempt at distraction on their part. Rush isn't passing legislation or determining the course of the country. That's why I don't care much what he says. I do care what Obama, Pelosi, Boehner, and the rest of the power players on The Hill say, though. Those folks can ruin our lives (and are a doing a darn fine job of it).

There is no leader of the Republican party right now. A leader is what they are looking for. Rush is just a recognizable radio talker and personality. He isn't leading anything. That poll you keep citing is just a name recognition contest.

The only people I hear calling Rush the de-facto leader of the Republican party are liberals. They are doing that so they can sling mud. I heard Mitt Romney and Lindsay Graham being asked who the leaders of the GOP were on Meet The Press this morning. They mentioned several names, but neither guy mentioned Limbaugh, and they would have sounded like fools if they had. There is zero possibility of Limbaugh leading anything, other than his radio time slot.

It's nothing fictitious like "publicly outwitting".

Rush was the highest vote getter from Republicans polled. The biggest vote getter was, of course, NO ONE. But Rush, of named poeple, got the most votes.

Meanwhile, Obama basks in 65% approval numbers.

Publicly outwitting Obama doesn't necessarily mean he's King of the repubs, Reverend. By that rationale, Achmadinejad, Chavez and the Castro brothers would all be defacto leaders of the party.

Rush, whether conservatives like it or not, is the de facto leader of the Republican Party. Like with Jackson.....bizarro reigns supreme.

And you have my condolences that Michael Jackson had the nerve to die, thus taking away from the wallowing in the Sanford affair. Maybe you should sue Jackson's estate.

But I'll concede that Rush's explanation for Sanford's behavior is, to quote Jacko, Off The Wall.

Rush WIC now that is funny! But what would that make Olberman WWPR, whiner with poor ratings! Government is fine, as long as you take the politics out of it. As for Phil Gramm I think he is right, its time to pull up the boot straps and think about doing the right thing, not what some special interest group may want. Lets help the helpless, not the clueless.
