U.S. Media: Terrorist Sympathizers?

by The Reverend on June 10, 2009

in Uncategorized

I've already blogged about the anti-abortion, domestic terrorism groups in the United States and how terrorist acts by those groups are defended by a radical minority of devoutly religious evangelicals, and a handful of media jihadist-apologists.

Scott Roeder, the domestic terrorist, after years of domestic terrorist activity, pre-meditatively stalked, then assassinated Dr. Tiller in Kansas, all for political reasons,….and is now giving interviews to American media…..from his jail cell.

I find this nothing short of unbelievable.

He told the AP he refused to talk to investigators when he was arrested, and has made no statements to police since then.

"I just told them I needed to talk to my lawyer," Roeder said.

Amazingly, a domestic terrorist, a member of a dangerous 'sleeper cell' of American jihadists, has been given ample time and opportunity, FROM HIS JAIL CELL, to spread his jhadist message through eager American media channels.

In two separate calls to AP on Sunday morning, Roeder was far more talkative about his treatment at the Sedgwick County jail, complaining about "deplorable conditions in solitary" where he was kept during his first three days there.

The AP willingly became a co-conspirator in the anti-abortion jihad against American women and their reproductive doctors by giving Roeder a platform from which he could send out possibly coded messages to other American jihadists in other sleeper cells. Isn't the AP aiding and abetting the American domestic terrorism movement?

Why does the AP hate American women and their reproductive doctors? Is it because of our freedoms?

The AP assists the terrorist, Roeder, by helping him spread his message of terror to other abortion providers and women considering having a legal abortion.

"I know there are many other similar events planned around the country as long as abortion remains legal," Roeder said. He would not elaborate.

When the middle-eastern teevee network, al-Jazeera, did something similar to the AP, giving a platform to Islamic terrorists……this is what happened….

The station first gained widespread attention in the West following the September 11, 2001 attacks, when it broadcast videos in which Osama bin Laden and Sulaiman Abu Ghaith defended and justified the attacks. This led to significant controversy and accusations by the United States government that Al Jazeera was engaging in propaganda on behalf of terrorists. Al Jazeera countered that it was merely making information available without comment, and indeed several western television channels later followed suit in broadcasting portions of the tapes.

On November 13, during the US invasion of Afghanistan, 2001, a U.S. missile strike destroyed Al Jazeera's office in Kabul.

Should President Obama order a missile strike on the Associated Press?

Yesterday, American jihad teevee member, CNN, helped American terrorist, Scott Roeder, spread his twisted and hateful message….

"An anti-abortion activist suspected in the death of Kansas doctor George Tiller told CNN on Tuesday the closing of Tiller's women's clinic is "a victory for all the unborn children.""

Though Roeder won't speak to legal authorities, CNN, in a symbol of solidarity with Roeder's cause, gave ample soapbox time to the jailed terrorist to explain his motive…

Roeder "said if he is convicted in Tiller's slaying, "the entire motive was the defense of the unborn.""

When CNN, the American jihadist network, told Roeder about the closing of the abortion clinic run by the man Roeder assassinated, CNN dutifully recorded the American jihaist's message of propaganda….

"Roeder said the closure would mean "no more slicing and dicing of the unborn child in the mother's womb and no more needles of poison into the baby's heart to stop the heart from beating, and no more partial-birth abortions.""

I must give credit to CNN for also including this from the lawyer of the assassinated Dr. Tiller…..

"I am content to let law enforcement determine whether anything he says merits attention. I do not encourage anyone else to give Mr. Roeder or his extremist views any additional attention as he awaits trial," Monnat wrote.

Must have been CNN's idea of "balance". CNN, of course, completely disregarded the "additional attention" part, choosing instead to not only give additional attention to an American jihadist, but other like-minded domestic terrorist-cell leaders, as well….

Troy Newman, the president of one of those organizations, Operation Rescue, said in a statement on the group's Web site Tuesday that his group is "thankful that Tiller's clinic will not reopen and thankful that Wichita is now abortion-free." But he added, "This is a bittersweet moment for us at Operation Rescue. We have worked very hard for this day, but we wish it would have come through the peaceful, legal channels we were pursuing."

As you read the following, ask yourself this question…..if the jailed jihadist was a Muslim extremist, like, say, Zawahiri, instead of an American abortion-terrorist, would CNN's behavior be acceptable or even permitted?

Roeder met with (CNN's Ted) Rowlands for a half-hour Tuesday, talking on a phone through security glass at the Sedgwick County jail where he is being held. He initially was reluctant to talk, as he said he had been misquoted in another interview. But he gradually opened up, noting that he was giving the interview against the advice of his defense attorney.

Roeder told CNN he is "feeling good," and getting encouraging letters from people around the country, many of whom he does not know.

And shouldn't those "letters" be confiscated, declared to be of "national security" concern, and the authors tracked down as terrorist sympathizers?

More American jihadist coverage.

I wish you'd start using an "anti-free speech" tag as I'm interested in the percentage of total posts that could fall under that category.

I'd guess at least 2/3rds since the start of the year.

Bubba June 10, 2009 at 12:07 pm

I guess if Bin Laden would give an interview to CNN that they would air it as well.

The Reverend June 10, 2009 at 12:14 pm

I calculated that since conservatives were perfectly fine with limiting speech from 2001-2008, they would feel much more comfortable with limiting speech now….but alas, it's only liberal speech that conservatives are interested in limiting.

Wouldn't want to limit any known domestic terrorist's words. I mean, after all, he has rights.

Like this guy had…http://digbysblog.blogspot.com/2009/06/it-could-happen-to-you-by-digby-i.html

The Reverend June 10, 2009 at 12:15 pm

So, Bubba, everthing is cool then, right?

Bubba June 10, 2009 at 2:59 pm

Sure. Are you afraid of different ideas?

The Reverend June 10, 2009 at 3:58 pm

Nope.

I was actually wondering about the distinction in how free speech was treated by conservatives during Bush and how it is being treated now under Obama. Flesicher said we had to watch what we said, the Dixie Chicks were punished and ridiculed, MoveOn bashed,….NY Times investigated and threatened with prosecution….you kow, just wondering why those rules no longer apply.

I suppose the answer is that Democrats are in control now.

angry conserv June 10, 2009 at 5:50 pm

Good point about the Dixie Chicks and their abuse by the right wingnuts. To bad those right wing terrorists cant give everybody the same respect as the left gives to S. Palin. Never mind that is a bad example. She deserves the obscene bile directed at her by the compasionate and tolerant libs

Da King June 11, 2009 at 5:28 am

Rev, I knew my agreements with you wouldn't last long.

You are suffering from some kind of liberal tunnel vision here.

Every utterance by Bin Laden or Zawahiri is blasted all over our airwaves by the media, along with any other statement by any terrorist they can find. The media also aired the statements of that American Muslim domestic terrorist who killed the Army recruiter, yet you didn't even mention that. That guy's statements were almost identical to Roeder's. He says he didn't even commit a crime.

There is NO comparison between the NY Times divulging classified information (which IS a crime, for which the Times was NOT punished), and a jailhouse interview with a criminal. Our media will air any interview with any criminal at any time, in case you haven't noticed.

And convservatives did NOTHING to the Dixie Chicks or Moveon.org except disagree with them. Darn that free speech, anyway.

But at least the Rev is on board the national security bandwagon now, albeit 8 years too late. 3,000 dead on 9/11 didn't do it, but one dead late term abortionist did. Such progress.

Three successful, deadly terrorist attacks on U.S. soil in the last 10 days or so. Plus fellows with the same name as terrorists found to be crossing the Atlantic at will, no questions asked unless the plane goes down in a freak storm. What's the deal? Who is minding the store?

This latest fellow seems to be a Jew-hating, neo-con hating believer in 9/11 conspiracies … maybe a fan of Blog of Mass Destruction?

The Reverend June 11, 2009 at 7:47 am

Jose Padilla was forced to wear big clunky goggles when he was moved because he might have been planning to give secret terrorist eye signals to his buddies. Remember that?

When Hoekstra or Cheney divulge classified information, or when Bush/Cheney secretly declassifies intel in order to out a covert CIA agent whose husband spilled the beans on the Iraq crime, that's called national security. When CNN and the AP set up a satellite reporting office in a domestic terrorist's cell, that's called freedom of speech.

America has lost it's way.

"This latest fellow seems to be a Jew-hating, neo-con hating believer in 9/11 conspiracies … maybe a fan of Blog of Mass Destruction?"

Pulling my chain again, I see.

I've always been a patient man when it comes to those who are challenged by reality. In my prior life, dazed and confused religionists exhibited severe deficiencies when it came to, you know, reality…..and I've discovered over the last 6 years that dazed and confused political commenters suffer from a similar malady.

Like I said, I'm a patient man…….and I don't know if you've noticed…..I'm rarely, if ever, proven wrong.

larry d. June 11, 2009 at 12:01 pm

Are you trying to say it's not possible a Jew-hating, neo-con hating, 9/11 conspiracy nut wouldn't be inflamed to violence after reading all your posts about Jews and neocons murdering innocent children, Reverend?

The Reverend June 11, 2009 at 1:52 pm

Anything is…possible.

Maybe we should ban history books because the facts contained within could incite crazies like von Brunn? Perhaps historical facts are potentially too dangerous for us to read.

Although it's true that American neo-cons and far-right Israeli leaders are responsible for many Muslim deaths, you'll find no incitement-to-violence language in my posts addressing those realities. And I think you know that.

I have wanted Bush and Cheney to be held accountable for their crimes for 8 years now….but I have never called for violence against them.

Meanwhile, Fox and Friends plus Rushbo and the Beckster have been calling for American failure and open revolt.

larry d. June 11, 2009 at 2:30 pm

It's okay, Reverend. I know you're inciting for Obama now and that kind of fanatical zealotry is just part of your makeup. I just hope he doesn't leave you as embittered as God did when things don't work out.

The Reverend June 11, 2009 at 5:17 pm

Really? I have no bitterness about god. And I have no pre-conceived notions about Obama. Look in the archives….I said the best we can hope for was a cauterizing of the wounds left over from the Bush mob. Anything more than that is gravy.

larry d. June 11, 2009 at 6:54 pm

Zealotry is your curse, Reverend.

Da King June 12, 2009 at 5:47 am

Rev says, "you'll find no incitement-to-violence language in my posts addressing those realities."

Except for you saying Bush and Cheney should be hanged by the neck until dead, you mean. Not to mention all the Hitler and terrorist comparisons and such that you draw. Not to mention calling the GOP racist, neocon murderers and such, or calling Bush a torturer 10,000 times. No incitement there. No Sirree. It's only right-wing speech that incites violence, like when they say illegal immigration and late term abortions should be stopped. You know, the CRAZY stuff.

Got it.

On an unrelated issue, I hear there are some very good anti-psychotic medications on the market these days.

The Reverend June 12, 2009 at 7:53 am

Of course, you know I said that Bush/Cheney should be indicted, tried by a jury, convicted, and then hung by their necks til they're dead. I feel the same way today. Nothing malicious or hateful about it. They're traitors, the worst America has ever known.

Rarely, if ever, have I drawn a Hitler comparison.

The GOP has not one black representative in all of Congress. The GOP is vehemently opposed to affirmative action….and blacks vote Democratic by a 90-10 margin. Draw your own conclusion. I have. Neo-cons, though not exclusively, belong to the conservative movement. The GOP is responsible for the neo-cons in the last administration….you remember, the traitors.

Finally, Bush is a torturer.

Those are all facts. I know today's conservative movement is allergic to facts….but that's not my problem, really.

And larry….yeah, you've nailed it….I'm a zealot. I don't know why, but you know, when the executive branch defrauds the American people and Congress, kills 4300 U.S. soldiers in the fraud, murders hundreds of thousands of Iraqis for NO reason and uses torture to cover their asses…..I kind of take it seriously.

You guys must have been hell on wheels defending the killing of U.S. soldiers during Vietnam, huh?
