I think my material speaks for itself.

As does the comments from those defending torture and criminality at the highest levels.

And 1420,....please....with all due respect....you don't seem to even understand the argument.

One final time...Zubaydah was waterboarded in the spring and early summer of 2002. Memos weren't approved until August 2002.

But, I suppose, since our torture leaders were THINKING that waterboarding was legal.....that was good enough.

Ronald Reagan's administration prosecuted waterboarding as a crime. But then Reagan was a flaming liberal.

For 6 years I've been saying that Bush/Cheney were criminal. Now the evidence is pouring out showing I was correct all along. So, obviously to the cognitively-challenged, that proves I am wrong.

Oh my god, enough with the Japanese soldiers, we get it, you'll cling till that bogus argument until the day you die.

Plus, you're argument isn't against waterboarding, it's against all the E.I. Techniques.

In fact, IIRC, you're argument is that the memos themselves are illegal. Memos. From lawyers. Are illegal.

Got it, I got your argument, please stop now.

1420....I mean, really....what's up with your head, my friend?

Our nation prosecuted Japanese soldiers and, at least, one American sheriff for waterboarding. Why would we do that if it was legal? And any attempt to argue that it was the WAY the waterboarding was conducted is nullified by the fact that we waterboarded one guy 6 times a day, and another almost 3 times a day.

average....this, "Intelligence reports showed that alkaida was linked to Iraq and that Saddam supported them with arms and training and cash."

...just isn't so. There is no evidence, at all, that supports your statement. And I would ask you.....if we have two sets of human rights standards, one for Americans and a different one for everyone else, how do you think the world will regard and deal with us? What about Reagan's signing of the Convention Against Torture? Isn't that worth anything?

larry...I wasn't aware that the locals had gone that far yet, you know, in their willingness to protect us.

And here is my "theory"....

"If torture is legal, then it's legal. As soon as something is made legal, it spreads it's influence throughout all of society. If torturing prisoners saves lives, then it saves lives and should be incorporated into all of our law enforcement agencies…..down to the local yeehaw sheriff. No law enforcement official could ever be punished for torture because he can plead that he was doing it to save lives."

Perhaps you can explain how my theory is faulty. And wouldn't Robert Mueller, if torture worked in saving lives, be advocating for it's use, instead of keeping his boys out of it? Did Mueller not want to save American lives?

I guess the Reverend's theory explains why the sheriff's department now has ballistic missiles and the Akron Police just bought a nuclear submarine.

Maybe if we were a bit tougher on our criminals like they are in Singapore we wouldn't have so much crime. Beating people with a cane seems to be a big deterent.

Rev your argeument about torture being legal throughout our society is silly. These people do not have the same civil rights as Americans. They are the enemy. They attack our homeland.
Intelligence reports showed that alkaida was linked to Iraq and that Saddam supported them with arms and training and cash. The reason we didn't find them is the same reason the WMD's were gone. They were moved.

"If torture is legal, then it's legal"

Ok, now what if these EI techniques were legal... oh, I'm sorry, you're not interested in debating their legality, you've made up your own mind.

Maybe I misunderstood.

I dismantled the comparison, my mistake.

If torture is legal, then it's legal. As soon as something is made legal, it spreads it's influence throughout all of society. If torturing prisoners saves lives, then it saves lives and should be incorporated into all of our law enforcement agencies.....down to the local yeehaw sheriff. No law enforcement official could ever be punished for torture because he can plead that he was doing it to save lives.

Conservatives respect Robert Mueller.....he says it doesn't work....furthermore, he prohibited his agencts from participating in what happened.....because he knew it was torture, and illegal.

Stand against conspiratorial traitors who want to drag America down into the slime and filth of tyrants. These people must be prosecuted.

Wait, Rev, I thought it was YOUR argument that if torture is rational in some cases, than it is rational in all cases. Larry was arguing that's silly.

angry conserv's reasoning....if we can't torture to produce phony confessions so we can invade any non-threatening country neo-cons want to invade....then we're sissies.

larry's reasoning.....if a traffic cop, carrying out his legal right on the job to hand out speeding violation tickets, on occasion, gets it wrong.....that means torture is legal in certain situations.

My goodness....the depth of pretzel logic you guys won't bend yourselves into to cling to the savagery and illegality of torture. Or is it just to justify the actions of your super-heroes....George and Dick?
