Just Impeach Obama Now?

I'm sticking to my March (2008) recession prediction. The monied boys and the GOP crooks will hand the Democrats a quagmire in Iraq, a recession here at home and a cranky electorate…. and then they will ask the Dems, "Why did you let this happen?".

On January 4, 2008, 14 months ago, The Reverend wrote this….

One other wager I think I would make as well……I bet the economic decline that has begun with Junior, under his leadership, will all be blamed on……….wait for this one too……Democrats.

March 3, 2009, less than 6 weeks into the Obama administration, WSJ online

Americans have welcomed the Obama era in the same spirit of hope the President campaigned on. But after five weeks in office, it's become clear that Mr. Obama's policies are slowing, if not stopping, what would otherwise be the normal process of economic recovery. From punishing business to squandering scarce national public resources, Team Obama is creating more uncertainty and less confidence — and thus a longer period of recession or subpar growth.

Current Newsbusters poll question…."Is the Bear Market Obama's Fault?"

More from Newsbusters

A consistent media meme since Election Day has been that Barack Obama was inheriting a recession that some believe began as far back as December 2007.

Since then, despite various rescue plans from his Administration, and the passage of a $787 billion stimulus package, the stock market has continued to plummet while employers shed payrolls in a fashion rarely seen in history.

This all raises an important question: will media ever blame current economic conditions on Obama, or will they continue to point fingers at George W. Bush despite his residence being in Texas?

From a Bloomberg.com piece, March 8, 2009, entitled, "Obama Bear Market Punishes Investors as Dow Slumps"…..

“It’s the Obama bear market,” said Dan Veru, who helps oversee $2.8 billion at Palisade Capital Management in Fort Lee, New Jersey. “We don’t know what the rules are in so many different areas the government is touching.”

It's not The Reverend's clairvoyance skills I'm highlighting here…..it's how utterly predictable the pathetic Villager Media has become.

The last time we saw such ridiculous performances by corporate media was during the Clinton administration. Then, like Rumpelstiltskin, these same corporate whores took an 8 year long nap….completely worn out finally from all the ridiculous frenzy they had worked themselves into over a blowjob.

These media patriots knew that with the GOP'er, G.W. Bush, at the helm, it was safe to drop their critical stance….because George represented the powerful monied interests media patriots whored for. So they slept. Why tire yourself out being critical when you're getting so many deep tax cuts? And hell….so what if he destroys the country….you'll still be rich.

Now, rested and refreshed, and right on cue, these same servicers of the powerful are back attacking and trying to delegitimize another Democratic president.

That is, when they're not telling us, in detail, all about the national security implications of Michelle Obama exposing her muscles.

It's Sunday, March 8, 2009…..and still today, the corporate main media looms as America's number one threat. The Old Soviets must be green with envy.

Speaking of clairvoyance I was just telling my dog I'll be the Reverend posts something about the knee pad media this week.

Yeah Larry, that biased liberal media you cats are always ranting about….the media that refused to report the unsavory details of their Master's consensual extramarital affair. Oh that's right, now I remember, it was all over every station and newspaper.

2.2 million jobs lost since Obama's election. Dow tanking. It's obviously Bush's fault. No, wait it must be the media's fault. And to all you Clinton lovers he was impeaced for lying under oath. Same thing that Martha Stewart went to jail for and Scotter Libby was convicted of. But I guess if Bill did it it's OK.

Obama didn't cause the recession. He had barely arrived in the Senate when it started.

Democrats did have a big hand in it, however. There's no escaping that fact. So did the rest of our government.

Bush didn't deregulate the housing market, no matter how many times the left says he did (without ever naming even ONE example). That does not absolve Bush, however. He was president while the crisis happened, so he shares in the blame.

The stock market has reacted negatively to Obama's policies, predictably. Obama has introduced a lot of uncertainty into an already uncertain situation. The market doesn't like uncertainty. They don't like to bet on uncertainty.

Even though I disagree with Obama's policies, they cannot be called a failure when he's only been president for six weeks. That's silly. Those trumpeting that note are just being partisan.

Since the media got Obama elected, I think it's pretty impolite to complain about the media now. The unqualified love the media showered on Obama during the campaign was an embarassment. There wasn't even a pretense of objectivity. Obama didn't come to be known as The Messiah by accident. The media crowned him.

The Rev always expects the media to look the other way for Democrat scandals. They usually do, but the Clinton/Lewinsky thing was just TOO juicy, like if Brad and Angelina had affairs and split up. A ratings bonanza. The media couldn't resist. It had nothing to do with left vs. right. The media is mostly left, but they LOVE a scandal, no matter who it involves. Sex scandals are gold. They move newspapers and get the rubberneckers watching the tube.

  • The Reverend

American voters elected Obama. The media, for months and months, told us how white voters wouldn't vote for a black president. I paid attention, apparently, you didn't. McCain was hugged and adored by media until his lying and posturing became too embarassing. Palin was quickly embraced as the answer to Hillary voters…before she demonstrated she was a bit wacky.

Yes, media loves scandals. But media also loves shilling for the powerful monied interests represented, primarily, by the Republican Party. That's why the media has gotten out of their Rumpelstiltskin beds now to delegitimize Obama, like they did Clinton. For almost 8 full years the same media was very shy about accusing Bush and the GOP of anything. That's why the numerous crimes of the BushCos have yet to be revealed and explained in their full glory.

So when can Obama be impeached? What needs to happen? He's already violating the Constitution; do we have to wait until his approval rating drops? Scores of Democrats and Republicans alike are regretting their votes for Obama. Why aren't opinion polls reflecting this? Do we have to wait for another terrorist attack?
As you can see, I am extremely dissatisfied, in fact, I'm frightened by this "new" United States. The decline of our country is taking me and mine, somewhere we don't want to go.
