January 31, 2009

It seems that, on average, 65% of Americans consider religion important in their daily lives while 35% do not. Ohio ranks 25th, with Ohioans considering religion to be important in their daily lives by 65%.

GOP Media

January 30, 2009

In total, from 6 AM on Monday to 4 PM on Wednesday,(when the House vote on the stimulus bill was taken) the networks have hosted Republican lawmakers 51 times and Democratic lawmakers only 24 times. ThinkProgress
Many conservatives still hold to their false premise that the corporate media is liberally biased. Republicans are very good [...]

Those Viral E-Mails

January 29, 2009

Someone forwarded me this viral e-mail and asked if I would respond.
It is my pleasure…..
Professor Joseph Olson of Hemline University, School of Law, St. Paul , Minnesota , points out some interesting facts, concerning the Presidential election:
Number of States won by: Democrats: 19 Republicans: 29
Square miles of land won by: Democrats: [...]

Heads We Win, Tails You Lose

January 28, 2009

Obama won the election….Democrats increased their majorities in the Congress….so minority Republicans should get their way on all new policy decisions.
Obama campaigned on closing Guantanomo and ending torture, and won the election…..so Gitmo should stay open and torture continued.
Obama campaigned on cutting payroll taxes for middle and lower income working families, and won the election….so [...]

Disgraceful BBC

January 27, 2009

This is truly disgusting.
In more than 80 years as a publicly financed broadcaster with an audience of millions at home and around the world, the BBC has rarely been buffeted as severely as it has in recent days over its decision not to broadcast a television appeal by aid agencies for victims of Israel’s recent [...]

Losers Insist On Their Policies

January 26, 2009

To listen to the [...]

Government Choices On The Economy

January 24, 2009

I see all the usual suspects, Republicans named Boehner and Cantor, Blue Dog Democrats who are actually Republicans in drag, and my favorite Knee Pad Media Pod People, are all clutching pearls and wringing hands over President Obama's plan to prop up the American economy with over $800 billion in spending.
As I see the situation, [...]

Righting The Wrongs

January 23, 2009

1) President Obama had a busy day yesterday.
From Dana Priest of the Washington Post….
The military's Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, facility, where the rights of habeas corpus and due process had been denied detainees, will close, and the CIA is now prohibited from maintaining its own overseas prisons. And in a broad swipe at the Bush administration's [...]

Refresher For Conservatives

January 21, 2009

Consider this post a language-syntax refresher for conservatives.
President Obama today…
"Information will not be withheld just because I say so. It will be withheld because a separate authority believes my request is well grounded in the Constitution. Let me say it as simply as I can, transparency and the rule of law will be the touchstones [...]

Obama Inaugural Address: Indictment of Bush/Cheney

January 20, 2009

Obama was inspirational in his Inauguration Speech. One thread was woven throughout…..a complete and utter rejection of the last 8 years of presidential leadership.
I've emboldened the words in Obama's thread-weaving….
On this day, we gather because we have chosen hope over fear, unity of purpose over conflict and discord.
On this day, we come to proclaim an [...]
