The one good thing out of all these endless "debates" on the teevee is that people actually get to here these guys out a bit. That has been a plus for Paul, no question. Huckabee also has benefited.

Too bad about Kucinich's brother.

Rev,
I applaud you for reporting on Ron Paul. Paul and Kucinich are the only alternatives for significant change among the candidates. This is, of course, why the media portray them as gadflys with no chance at all. However, they at least get people to think and realize that we don't have to be stuck with the conventional wisdom which has served us so badly.

Dave: When you say this...

"If the Dems take over, we are DOOMED to 'Nationalised Healthcare' when Gov't involvement is what screwed the healthcare system up in the first place."

...what are you referring to? Medicare?

I know that Medicare Plan D, passed for the sake of Big Pharma, has kept prices high. Can't negotiate for lower prices, can't get stuff from foreign countries, you know, help for Big Pharma, like that. Is that what you're getting at?

Or is it the fact that health insurance companies get a piece of all the Medicare plans, including Plan D....for no apparent reason. I mean, other than profits. That kind of messes up health care, yeah, by making it more expensive. Paying people in offices who have nothing to do with health care providing...at all....I don't know.....seems wasteful and unnecessary to me.

The reason I keep talking about Ron Paul is because Ron Paul is a big story. His success with GOP voters is a story in itself, let alone his libertarian views, libertarian except for his pro-life stance, that is.

The reality that many conservatives, Republicans and independents are joining in with those who are libertarian minded to start with, all in support of a little known Congressman from Texas....that's a story that deserves repeating.

But Paul's popularity is a symptom of the disintegration of what's become a hopelessly corrupt and criminal minded Republican Party. Bush/Cheney plus Republican Congressional Stampers have all but destroyed whatever it was that was supposed to be their brand. It's gone.

Paul is a breath of fresh air in a room full of choking men.

But neither he nor any other GOP'er will be president, not this time. But that doesn't mean that Ron Paul isn't a good man, I believe he is.

Dave,

The problem with conservatives is that they think government is the problem. If you believe that how can one govern?

When you screw things up as badly as the GOP, of course you'll say, "See, government does not work!"

Ron Paul HAS to be our next president. The Republicans(Neo-cons) will not defeat the Dems in the election. If the Dems take over, we are DOOMED to 'Nationalised Healthcare' when Gov't involvement is what screwed the healthcare system up in the first place.

Ron Paul is going to get a WHOLE bunch of people off their butt to go vote this year. I find it very sad that our votes really don't count anymore and our states politicians will do NOTHING about it. All of the voting machines used in Ohio have security flaws that are easily exploited. LET YOUR POLITICIANS KNOW THAT YOU CARE!!!!

Rev, are you a one-issue guy ? With the exception of foreign policy, I think you'd be against everything Ron Paul believes in. With the exception of foreign policy, Ron Paul thinks like me.

That's fine with me, but I'm not talking about the tried and true Ron Paul supporters.

Once people get in the booth, most will do what they think is safest. Others will vote for whoever they think will win. I doubt either group will vote for Ron Paul.

But of course, Mitt, Hillary, McCain, Edwards and Fred, like Huckabee for the Dems, will never become president...

Why? Because that's just the way it is.

Ron Paul is our next president of the United States of America. Better get used to it.

Larry d. I think you have it backwards. Ron Paul supporters will travel anywhere even in insanely cold Boston Weather to support him.

Most candidates supporters will switch parties as soon as they start reading some of their stands on issues. Or hear some of someone elses like Pauls.
