We have never attended the Covered Bridge Festival but have taken the self guided tour several times. It is a great drive and the leaves are so beautiful at this time of year. There are many different covered bridges to see.

If you like arts and crafts, the covered Bridge Festival in Jefferson is a good stop. It is held at the Fairgrounds in Jefferson, but don't miss the new Smolen-Gulf bridge on State Rd in Ashtabula. This new bridge, at 613 foot long is the longest covered bridge in the U.S. and has covered walkways on both sides of the bridge. You can also drive down to the nice park underneath the bridge and view it from below. The bridge is 93 feet above the Ashtabula River.
