What happened to Geauga Lake?

by Betty on June 4, 2008

Unfortunately after the park closed for the season in 2007, owner Cedar Fair decided not to reopen the amusement park, and they are in the process of selling off the rides. The only thing open this year is their Wildwater Kingdom, located on the site of the former Sea World in Aurora, Ohio. For information call 330-995-7810 or visit www.wildwaterfun.com.

I made a big mistake. I was thrilled that Cedar Fair bought Geauga Lake because I thought they would fix the problems Six Flags made and return it to its glory as a lovely family amusement park. Instead, they decided to close the only Ohio amusement park on the eastern side of Ohio. Now my family and I will go to Kennywood instead of patronizing Cedar Point. It's a great amusement park – but too far with gas as high as it is…besides, I'm angry at Cedar Fair. I wish we had Geauga Lake and Sea World back – they were wonderful places to take family.
