Does Cleveland have a first night?

No Cleveland doesn't but Akron has a great First Night Celebration on New Year's Eve. Admission to all of the events is by a First Night button that can be purchased at Acme stores and Borders Books and Music stores or at the Akron Beacon Journal Customer Service Desk.

Can we just tour the grounds at Stan Hywet or must we pay for the house tour?

Is there a place to see Christmas lights that's free?

Yes, the Canton Park System has a wonderful lighting display throughout the park between 12th Street N.W., and Fulton Road, and there's more at the Canton Garden Center; also the GE Nela Park display in Cleveland is free, just drive along Noble Road, that's just 7 miles from Downtown Cleveland.

Is there a place to take my parents to see lights where they don't have to get out and walk around?

There are several: The GE Nela Park display on Noble Road is located just 7 miles East of Downtown Cleveland.
Also, Blossom Holiday Lighting Festival at 1145 W. Steels Corners Road in Cuyahoga Falls; and the grounds at Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens at 714 N. Portage Path in Akron.

Is the Canton Polar Express still running?

No, the Canton run ended on Friday, December 14, however the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad Polar Express trains are still running, although tickets are scarce, but you can call the railroad at 800-468-4070 to see if any tickets become available.

How long will the dog exhibit be in Columbus?

William Wegman's wonderful exhibit "Funney/Strange" showcasing his well-known Weimaraners will remain at the Wexner Center for the Arts at The Ohio State University until December 30, 2007.

There's a drive-thru display of lights in Canton's park system, near the Canton Garden Center, from 12th Street to Fulton Road; also at Blossom Music Center, 1145 Steels Corners Road in Cuyahoga Falls, there's a drive-thru display on view every evening from 6 to 9 p.m. Call 330-920-8040 for more information.
