Then use the answers received to take whatever system I was working on to the next level. As the Chamber Execu- tive Director I nd myself still doing the same thing asking questions. It was the process of asking the question collect- ing the answers and nding the trend in the answer that was the motivation for this section. Why Green In preparation for the section I asked many people who crossed my path the question and received short answers long answers Ill get back to you answers and everything in between answers. The answers received were similar and not surprising growth schools newness location As I answer the question myself I think about the new businesses about the school colors orange and black about a rallying community feature and about our potential. Then I focus on the value businesses of all sizes bring to a community. In the six Green zip codes businesses payroll adds up to over 35M. Imagine the residual impact those dollars have on restaurants retail locations local nancial institutions and service providers. This summer I invite you to join me in celebrating the unique features of Green. I guarantee you the businesses will continue to build on Greens strengths so there will always be something new for you to experience when you visit our city. Other communities are envi- ous of Greens three exits from the major north-south interstate highway that runs through the city. At each of these exits you will nd a wealth of diverse offerings. The southernmost exit is the gateway from Stark County and links to our indus- trial park MAPS Air Museum and Greens largest recreational area Boettler and Southgate Parks. The central exit brings you to the Massillon Road corridor. Here you will nd retailers restaurants and health and well- ness organizations. Considered the hub of the city Massillon Road takes you to Veterans Memorial Park and our Central Administration Building. In ad- dition the Green Local Schools and Portage Lakes Career Center are all conveniently located off Massillon Road. Finally our northernmost exit is the gateway from Akron with the dozens of national chains and features the Green Auto Miles 9 dealerships. These deal- erships are all within walking distance so its a great destina- tion for purchasing a vehicle. Not only do these three interstate exit ramps provide access to Green but they also make it convenient for people to travel to other metropolitan areas throughout the state and country. Green provides conveniences to travelers as well as residents with their wide array of consumer goods. Green is home to three grocery stores ve golf courses two wineries multiple ne and local dining establishments and specialty stores to name just a few. And convenience cannot be discussed without mentioning the airport. Our own CAK Air- port remains noted for their ease of access to the region and their ever increasing ight offerings. With nearly 33.5 square miles of land most cities have only 10-15 square miles of land Green has signicant open space and room for growth. This open space rings true for many residents. No matter where I go when I drive home I drive through open space Were close to the highway yet out in the country. Joan Smith Green Resident and Owner of Gal- lery143. It has so many positive opportunities and promising venues for everyone to enjoy. As a Summit County resident driving through Green my dream was to have an auto body repair shop right there on the Green Auto Mile. Nagys Collision Centers had done business with several of the automotive dealerships on the Green Auto Mile through their parts and service departments. So when Kip Bigelow approached my brother Dan Nagy and me about partnering with Doug Chevrolet and taking over their Collision Center it was an easy decision. Green has everything a business owner is looking for strong community spirit great leadership great business owners from retail establishments to restaurants and the best of all - great and loyal customers. Nagys Collision Centers is a second generation business founded by Dave Nagy in 1973 and purchased by Dan and me in 1996. Since then we have grown to 10 locations. We work with a lot of communities and Green is denitely one of the best. Our tag line for Nagys is Family Tradition Quality Repairs since 1973. We have seen this to be so true with many other businesses in Green a strong past built on family values and tradition. Vicki Nussbaum and Rosie Perez met for lunch one day and jokingly talked about one day opening a quaint little caf maybe serving breakfast and lunch. This would be our Fun retirement venture. A short time later Rosies hus- band saw an episode of Tom Chee on Shark Tank and suggest she look into it since tomato soup and grilled cheese are her favorite food. So the call was made to Vicki and the rest is history. How did we decide on Tom Chee This was a great new con- cept fun atmosphere and most importantly serving superior food . What is Tom Chee Tom Chee is a fast casual restaurant originating out of Cincinnati Ohio. The co- founders - Trew Quackenbush and Cory Ward along with their wives started out serv- ing grilled cheese and tomato soup out of a tent on Fountain Square in Cincinnati in 2009. In 2013 they appeared on Shark Tank Barbara Corcoran loved the concept and became an investor. They then agreed the best way to build the business was to franchise. The Food Everything is homemade down to our salad dressings. We roast all of our meats for the sandwiches and yes we also have goetta. Additionally all of our soups are homemade daily as well. We have three types of tomato soup sold daily along with daily soup specials. Furthermore we do not use microwaves freez- ers or vats so the customers knows that everything they are served is made fresh daily. Why did we choose the Green Ohio location Green is a fast growing com- munity lled with friendly people and many new busi- nesses opportunities. These two old friends have turned their dreams into a reality and plan on opening several more Tom Chee restaurants in Summit Stark and Wayne County.
